Missions at FBC Starkville

Mission work is a never-ending task. Year after year, the world grows, and with it, the need to share the gospel grows. And so, we go. FBC Starkville sends teams all over the world with this mission: to see that no place is left untouched by the gospel. Our work happens in countries on the other side of the world, communities a few hours down the road, or right in our backyard. In this issue of Redefined, we take the time to talk about FBC's philosophy on mission work, but then we go further, to tell you about the trips we've taken this year and some of the personal stories that we've brought home.

You may have heard about some of these trips for years, but we're going to keep talking about them. Every moment we spend on mission is a new and fresh opportunity for someone to come to faith. Even more, it's an opportunity for someone to share the gospel. In Acts 20, the writer tells us to remember the words of Jesus, "It is more blessed to give than to receive."

We don't just go for them. We go for us too. It's a blessing to share the gospel, but not only that, it's a blessing to serve others. When God grants us the opportunity to change a life, it's essential that we share that victory as a church family. Every trip we take and every event we host, gives us opportunities to celebrate. That's how we keep moving forward. We celebrate these moments. We go, but we've also got to remember why we go, and what better way to do that than to tell the stories of those that went and those that had their lives changed because they went.

So let's celebrate these moments together.
