VBS Volunteers
Jun

to Jun 7

VBS Volunteers

Over the last 6 years, VBS at FBC Starkville has grown to see over 300 kids throughout the week. In order for us to meet the physical and spiritual needs of each child and ensure we are creating an incredible, Christ-filled experience, we need over 100 volunteers to serve with us. Would you consider serving with us during the week of June3-7?

Thank you for your support of the Preschool and Children’s Ministries at FBC Starkville. We can’t wait to serve with you during VBS!

What Previous Volunteers Are Saying:

"VBS 2018 was my first year to serve “outside” the classroom. Although I picked snack worker as my preferred spot, I was worried I would not have an impact on children’s lives. Wrong! God can show up wherever he wants. Sitting by the new kid who hasn’t made many friends yet, having a caring conversation with a child who feels “different” because they need an allergy-free snack, or sharing a hug with my girls’ friends as if they were my own. It was a week that blessed my summer. God used my need for a break from the classroom to love children, and that is what VBS is all about."

- Erin Hammett

"VBS is one of my favorite things we do here at FBC! It is so much more than a week of crafts, games, and Bible verses. It is a week to invest in the lives of young souls and to fill them with the love of Christ."

- Holly Fron

"I helped with VBS when my sons were young, and now I'm helping with my grandchildren's classes! It is such a blessing to me to be able to help with their classes and warms my heart that they want me to help out each year!"

- Elisa Fuller

"I volunteered last summer for VBS. I was one of the ones who coordinated snacks for the different classes coming through at their designated snack time. I enjoyed this because I got to see kids that I hadn’t seen in a long time and I saw how much they’d grown."

- Ann Rush

"Even with all the work to prepare for each day, I think I enjoyed it as much as the kids did! My summer isn’t complete without VBS!"

- Cassandra Hiltpold

IF:Starkville

IF:Starkville

This is a generation that is not just hungry for big faith, but for a big faith that is lived out in the practical, mundane things we do and the decisions that we make everyday. What does it look like to follow God and live out this faith in our relationships, at our jobs, in conflict, in suffering, with money? Faith can move mountains, but it can also change our everyday circumstances, so we are going to look at God’s word to do that in one of the most practical, yet misunderstood, books of the Bible - Proverbs. Proverbs doesn’t show us a set of rules, but a different way to live that is so attractive, so fragrant, flowing through our lives, actions, relationships, and work, and drawing people to Christ. Together, we are going to discover what it looks like to do these things, not perfectly, but in good faith, trying our best to obey God and His way of life.

IF:Starkville will be a gathering of women to watch the live stream of IF:Gathering2019 from Dallas, TX. In 2018, more than 2,600 IF:Local events were hosted and streamed in more than 22 countries. IF:Gathering Founder and Visionary, Jennie Allen states that the "IF:Gathering exists to equip women with gospel-centered resources, events, and community so they may learn more about who God is and disciple other women right where they are." Our prayer for the IF:Starkville event is that as the women of our community gather together, despite generations, denominations and cultures, we will have the opportunity to experience a encounter with God in a way that will compel us to like arms with Him in the greatest calling on earth- to make disciples.
