Giving Through Service
We exist to bring glory to God by gathering, growing, giving, and going. This is our mission and process for discipleship. Out of this, gospel-centered service is the overflow of discipleship, serving those in and outside the church.
One of the ways we pursue and live out this discipleship trait is through volunteer opportunities.
Volunteers on our Guest Services team are some of the first people our attendees come in contact with at weekend services. They serve our church every week or every other week. They greet people before services, help people find seats, park cars, drive shuttles, and work in The Cove.
Volunteers in Community Groups lead groups to cultivate gospel-centered community. They oversee groups of 12+ individuals, develop leaders, encourage non-members toward membership, and encourage members to faithfulness.
Volunteers in the Music ministry use their gifts and abilities to minister to the church body through the expression of worship to the Lord through music. They lead worship at weekend services and other ministries and events throughout the week and sing or play an instrument in the worship band.
AUDIO/VISUAL PRODUCTION TEAM
Volunteers on the Production team keep things running smoothly during our weekend services and at events so that our attendees have a great experience meeting with the Lord and the church. They run the lighting and sound booth during services, put up slides for services and set up for services and events.
There are two ways to Volunteer in our FBC Kids ministry. University leaders are invited to worship with and teach truth to FBC Kids on Wednesday nights or Sunday mornings. Parents and young adults are invited to teach the truth of God’s word to FBC Kids on Sunday mornings during the Sunday school hour.
Volunteers in our Preschool ministry (birth – K) get the opportunity to shepherd and care for our littlest ones on Wednesdays and during weekend worship services through singing, dancing and teaching the truth of God’s Word. They lead classrooms, provide assistance to classroom teachers and care for babies and toddlers.
Volunteers in our Youth ministry serve through the building and fostering relationships with students, ministering to them through the teaching of Scripture, worship and intentional discipleship. They greet students, set up events, lead small groups and travel with us on retreats and mission trips.
THE HARBOR: SPECIAL NEEDS MINISTRY
Volunteer to minister to our children with special needs on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings during the Sunday school and 11:00 worship hour. This includes worshipping and teaching the Harbor kids the truth of God’s word, all while learning yourself to better see the love of Christ through the beauty of the Harbor kids.
Volunteers on our Communications team help us deliver the message of FBC to our congregation and community. These volunteers serve the body by creating and sharing stories that speak the truth about the way things are and proclaim the gospel through photography, videography, writing, editing, and hosting our weekend services.
