Living a Balanced Life

As we look ahead to the fall season, there's a lot to consider. One thing that will be very important in the coming weeks is the way that you'll use your most precious commodity: time. In this issue of Redefined, you'll hear from several members of FBC's staff about a variety of topics. You'll find recommendations on the practice of managing your social media habits. You'll learn about giving more than you receive, and you'll find advice on the incredibly important task of teaching your children our faith at home.

The topics this month are far-ranging, but they all point to the same idea: it takes discipline and practice to manage your time. The joy and satisfaction that comes from a life lived in balance is unmistakable. I hope that this issue helps you to evaluate the priorities you've set in your life, helping you tackle the coming fall season head-on.

Finally, you'll get to read about Brittany Farley. Brittany was a student in FBC's University Ministry. During her time here, she learned what it meant to serve others and share the Gospel. Through her involvement at FBC Starkville and the MSU Baptist Student Union, she got to experience what it was like to participate in international missions. Now, nearly nine years later, she's committing herself to full-time missions. You'll get to read Brittany's story, how she came to be a full-time missionary, and how you can come alongside Brittany and support her in this new journey.

As this new season of life approaches, be mindful of how you spend your time. Focus on the things that matter, and remove the things from your life that don't. Remember the words of Jesus to the disciples in Matthew 6:33, "Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need."
