Preschool to Youth

Our Next Generation ministries include children and students ages 0-18, preschool through high school. In all these ministries, we have the same mission: to bring glory to God by making disciples through gospel-centered worship, gospel-centered community, gospel-centered service and gospel-centered multiplication. Because we believe that Scripture is clear that parents are the primary disciple-makers in the lives of their children, our hope is to partner with parents in their pursuit of this mission, coming alongside them in the discipleship process. We do this in many ways, but especially through the various resources that we create. These resources help build a strong, gospel-centered foundation for their kids.

Preschool (Birth-k/5)

Today, we call the “little children” from Matthew 19:13-14–Preschoolers.  As such, we at FBC strive to show them God loves them in ways that they can understand.  These ways include: meeting their basic needs, appreciating their energy and sense of wonderment, engaging their senses, and developing a relationship with both them and their families.  Through play, music and singing, learning games, arts and crafts, simple Bible stories and Bible verses, and mission projects, we strive to help preschoolers learn foundational truths that will become the building blocks for a lifetime of knowing and loving God.

Kids (1st – 6th)

FBC Kids is the 1st – 6th Grade ministry at FBC Starkville that is designed to reach kids and teach Biblical truth as we gather together each week.  We provide trained leaders with the knowledge and empowerment to share the Gospel with kids and families.  Our desire is to see the church partner with families as they grow together by experiencing discipleship at home so they can further the Kingdom of Christ.

At FBC Kids, we desire for kids to experience the truth of the Gospel.  Every Sunday morning, we share Bible stories that relay the big picture of the Bible, teaching kids of God’s plan to redeem us through Jesus.   Our mid-week activities focus on laying a Biblical foundation for kids.  Through worship, games and scripture memorization, we encourage kids as they become confident in learning and studying God’s word.

We hope all children recognize their need for a Savior and experience salvation through Jesus Christ.

Youth (7th – 12th Grade)

The youth ministry of FBC Starkville is a place for teens to discover Jesus and grow in Him. In order to grow in Jesus our teens meet each Sunday morning in a small group with a caring adult and university student in order to discover and discuss what the Bible says and how to apply it to their lives. On Wednesday evenings we gather for our weekly youth service that’s designed for teens. A key part of a teen’s spiritual growth is through service. So, rather it’s serving in our preschool or children’s ministry or going on a summer mission trip we aim to provide regular service opportunities so that teens can learn to serve our world.

Our youth ministry aims to be a partnership between the church and the home. We know that no one has a greater impact on a teen than moms and dads. So, we want to partner with moms and dads in order to see teens reach their full potential.
